New Hanover Co. Commission poised to boot Berger
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Embattled New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger is closer to losing his seat on the board.
County Commissioners are scheduled to hold a special meeting today to consider a petition of amotion against Berger. Fellow commissioners are trying to use the process to remove the Republican from office.
Berger and his attorney had request a temporary restraining order to at least delay the hearing. Over the weekend, Special Superior Court Judge James Gale said he would deny the request in a filing this morning in New Hanover County court.
The commission will hold the special meeting immediately after their regular meeting, which starts at 9 a.m. at the New Hanover County Historic Courthouse.
