Murder victim’s sister says suspect is the wrong man
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The family of a murder victim says police have arrested the wrong person for his death.
The sister of murder victim Eugene Logan told a New Hanover County judge this morning that Tyron Seabrook was not the person who shot and killed her brother. Seabrook was making his first court appearance for first degree murder, armed robbery and felony possession of a firearm in the shooting death of Logan, 31, in the Hillcrest community Friday night
Despite what the victim’s sister said, the judge ordered Seabrook held without bond.
Prosecutors say Seabrook got married the day after the crime. His wife and the victim’s sister sat together during his court appearance.
The Department of Corrections website shows Seabrook, 31, has a criminal history going back to at least 1999, including convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, larceny, drug possession, possession of stolen goods, resisting an officer and assault on a female, among other crimes. District Attorney Ben David also said Seabrook was on federal probation at the time of the murder.
