Cree employee, Obama ‘friend’ facing drug charges
RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) — A manager at Cree Inc., who once introduced then-presidential candidate Sen. Barrack Obama during a 2008 visit to the Durham-based company, is facing drug trafficking charges.
David Matthew Jones of Wake Forest was arrested Sunday night by Raleigh police and charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine and conspiring to traffick methamphetamine.
Details surrounding the 40 year old's arrest have not been released. An arrest warrant obtained by ABC11 filed by Raleigh police June 23 alleges Jones and another man transported less than 200 grams of meth.
