TORNADO WARNING for SW Brunswick Co., southern Columbus Co. until 7:15 p.m.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the second time today, the National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WARNING for southwestern Brunswick County and southern Columbus County. The warning is until 7:15 p.m.

At 6:33 p.m., National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Longs, SC, or about six miles Northwest of Little River, SC, moving northeast at 20 mph. A funnel cloud was also spotted in the area.

In addition to the tornado, this story is capable of producing quarter size hail and destructive straight line winds.

Earlier this afternoon, the NWS issued a tornado warning for the same area. That warning expired at 5:15 p.m.
