STORMTRACK 3: Strong storms continue through early Wednesday, better weather for July 4th holiday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A persistent feed of moisture, combined with a series of storm systems, has dumped over 2 feet of rain across parts of eastern North Carolina in the past 4 weeks. In Wilmington, over 12 inches has fallen. The unsettled weather pattern will remain in place through part of Wednesday, but drier (hotter) air should be returning by the July 4th holiday.
