A can of food gets kids into the Children’s Museum free Saturday
WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington’s Inaugural ThankFULL Wilmington, a day of celebration, giving, and entertaining Thanksgiving-centered activities at the Museum, will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013. To emphasize the thankfulness and gratitude of the season, the Museum has decided to collect food donations at the door. If a family brings a can of food (or any other shelf-stable food item) to the Museum, their child(ren) will receive free admission into ThankFULL Wilmington. At the end of the day, all donated food will be given to the Good Shepherd Center, whose mission is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and foster transition to housing.
Throughout the day the Museum will host local celebrities to read Thanksgiving books to the children, including:

Moms Rising will be creating non-toxic, green holiday crafts with the children. A plethora of other Thanksgiving activities for children will be located throughout the Museum. Sweet Stacks Cupcakery will be donating cupcakes, and there will be other yummy treats for children and their parents throughout the day.
