UPDATE: Evacuees can return to homes, businesses after gas leak stopped

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The gas leak near Mayfaire and Landfall has been stopped, and Wilmington fire crews say evacuees are allowed to return to homes and businesses there.

Since the site is directly beside Castle Branch and backs up to Landfall homes, employees and residents were evacuated for close to 5 hours.
