Man wanted for questioning in NC murders killed
LOUISBURG, NC (AP) — Authorities say a man being sought for questioning about three murders is dead after a three-county chase.
Franklin County Sheriff Jerry Jones says 34-year-old Ricky Junior Toney was shot and killed Tuesday in Warren County after a six-hour chase. A man in the car with Toney was injured and taken to a hospital.
Officers were searching for Toney because they wanted to talk with him about the shooting deaths Tuesday of his estranged wife and her daughter in Louisburg. Toney also was wanted for questioning about a murder Dec. 20 in Vance County.
The chase began in Vance County, where deputies spotted him in a victim’s car.
