Gov. McCrory wants to talk about year ahead
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Gov. Pat McCrory wants to let North Carolina citizens know what his goals are for 2014 and beyond.
McCrory scheduled a news conference Tuesday with his Cabinet and top staff at the Executive Mansion in Raleigh.
McCrory’s office confirmed the Republican wants to talk about his agenda as he enters his second year in office.
He gave a taste of his ideas while speaking with audiences in Wilson last week. He said he was interested in raising teacher pay and wants to make educators feel respected.
McCrory also said he wanted to help rural communities with economic development, get more workers trained for vacant jobs and repair more state government buildings.
The governor says he had to make tough decisions in 2013 with unemployment debt and tax changes.
