Ice accumulations starting to add up, snow expected late tonight
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for southeastern NC through Wednesday morning. Since late afternoon, sleet has been falling across most of our viewing area. Here is a quick weather update for the rest of the night/morning:
Now – 10 PM: Moderate/heavy sleet likely. Additional ice accumulation of .25 to .5 inches possible
10 PM – Midnight: Snow begins to mix with sleet in inland counties
1 AM – 4 AM: Moderate/heavy snow possible for inland counties
4 AM – 8 AM: Moderate/heavy snow likely in all counties
9 AM – 11 AM: Light snow showers ending
NOTE- The snow/sleet forecast map pictured here shows the forecasted storm totals. Totals in the southern counties will be a mix of sleet/snow. Totals in the northern counties will reflect more snow accumulation.
