Navassa resident hires attorney to fight group home
We have an update on a story we have been following out of Navassa. Residents there are up in arms about town officials allowing a developer to build a group home for troubled teens.
Residents claim they never had a say in the decision, but town officials have said they went above and beyond their requirements by posting notifications in the paper and signs around town.
Now, a man who lives adjacent to the property where the home would be located has hired Attorney Amanda Davis to represent him.
“Their instincts tell them that something wasn’t right because they know that they didn’t know about it and they didn’t have any chance to say how they felt about it or to even know the truth about what happened,” said Davis. “So they’ve hired me to verify the proceedings and qualify them to make sure everything was done correctly.”
Davis said if she finds proceedings were done incorrectly, she will file a lawsuit against the town.
