Why “Max Steel” chose Wilmywood
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One of Hollywood East’s current productions chose Hoggard High School as their backdrop this weekend.
Principal photography for the family superhero movie “Max Steel” is underway.
Producer Julia Pistor from Mattell says, when chosing the location for the film, they were looking at locations in Louisiana, South Africa and Wilmington. Wilmington was the first place they visited.
She said after one day they fell in love with Wilmywood.
“We didn’t go anywhere else, it was just perfect. The crew here is amazing, so experienced. We would shoot here with them if there was an incentive or not. They’re just so great,” Pistor said. “The incentives of course are fantastic and I hope North Carolina continues giving them cause I think it’s great for business.”
