Former Brunswick Co. resident charged with string of sex crimes with child from ’90s
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a man who used to live in the county for multiple sex crimes involving a child.
Joseph Robert Hall, 62, of Gastonia, is charged with first degree rape of a child, first degree sexual offense of a child, second degree rape, second degree sexual offense, four counts of indecent liberties with a child, three counts of statutory rape and three counts of statutory sexual offense. Investigators say the crimes took place in Brunswick County between 1994 and 1998 beginning when the victim was twelve years of age.
Hall currently serves as a men’s ministry leader at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church in Dallas.
He is in the Gaston County Detention Facility under $1 million bond awaiting transportation to Brunswick County.
