FIRST ON 3: Domestic assault apparently led to fatal stabbing near Leland
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was stabbed to death this morning.
Investigators say it was a case of domestic violence with a fatal ending.
The stabbing took place at trailer at 67 Goodman Rd. off of US 17 west of Leland around 10 a.m.
“I’m turning myself in, because I just stabbed my boyfriend, because he was assaulting me,” a woman told 911 as she broke down in tears. She told the operator her boyfriend was “bashing my head into the wall,” so she stabbed him with a knife in the chest.
The Sheriff’s Office says the man killed was Johnathan Quincy Allen, 24.
Friends and family did not want to speak on camera, but a coworker said Allen and his girlfriend moved into this trailer about a week ago.
Investigators have released few details about what happened. They did say they had a woman in custody for questioning, but so far no charges have been filed.
