Tropical Storm Cristobal moving slowly northward

As of 6 a.m. Sunday, the National Hurricane Center Tropical Depression Four strengthen Tropical Storm Cristobal the 3rd named 2014 Hurricane Atlantic season.
As of 2 pm, Sunday, Tropical Storm had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and a minimum central pressure of 1001 mb.
Cristobal was located about 145 miles east of Long Island and is moving north at 7 mph. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for the southeastern and central Bahamas.
The official forecast track keeps Cristobal a tropical storm through Wednesday then pushing out to sea as a Category 1 Hurricane. At this time, the majority of the forecast models keep Cristobal away from the U.S. but we will continue to keep a close eye on this and alert you with any changes. The system is expected to continue to move slowly to the north-nothwestward Sunday.
As the way it stands, the impact for southeastern NC of this system will be some high swells and strong rip currents.
