FIRST ON 3: Brian Berger moved to Central Prison for behavior issues
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger is no longer in the New Hanover County jail. He has been moved to Central Prison in Raleigh.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jerry Brewer says Berger was moved Sunday to be “safe kept” for behavioral issues.
Berger is due back in court next week for a hearing on whether he violated his probation. He has been in jail since a June arrest in Beech Mountain. Investigators say he was found with several weapons, which may violate his probation for a DWI charge.
