Police: Victim pulls pistol on trio trying to rob him with gun for sale
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say the victim of an attempted armed robbery pulled a pistol on the trio when they tried robbing him with the empty gun he was selling.
Police say it happened around 12:45 yesterday afternoon, after a man trying to sell a rifle posted an ad on Craigslist. They say the man told them he arranged a meeting in the 200 block of Lullwater Drive near Market Street, where he showed three men the rifle he was selling.
That’s when police say one of the would-be robbers grabbed the gun and pointed it back at the man. They say the victim then pulled a pistol out of his waistband and pointed it back at the trio, telling them to put the rifle down because it wasn’t loaded.
Police say the victim then told the three would-be robbers to lay on the ground before he took of running with his rifle, and called 911. Officers say they arrested the three men a short time later, arresting them for the crime.
Edvis Miquem Galloway, 24, Savon Khalif Hardaway, 18, and Kalmeaice Kawanna Williams, 38, are all charged with both attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. They are all booked in the New Hanover County Jail, each under $500,000 secured bond.
