Anti-Hagan group holding rallies this week in NC

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — A conservative fiscal watchdog group is holding more than a dozen meetings across North Carolina this week seeking to build opposition to U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan as she seeks re-election in November.

The “Call Out Kay” tour by the state chapter of Americans for Prosperity began Monday, with stops scheduled in Asheville, Hickory and Greensboro. They say they will have nationally-known guests at several rallies, including Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson and national AFP head Tim Phillips.

The Hagan critics say she should be singled out for supporting President Barack Obama’s signature health care overhaul, as well as on environmental and tax policies.

Americans for Prosperity has spent millions of dollars on television ads critical of Hagan, particularly for the health care law.
