Carousel Center benefit; what happens in Wilmington, stays in Wilmington
Las Vegas came to life Saturday night in downtown Wilmington for a fundraiser benefiting the Carousel Center.
Wilmington civic and business leaders and elected officials gathered to help the center, which is a non-profit organization that helps sexually abused children.

“We serve 15 counties and we act as a voice for the kids. We do medical and mental health services and we do educational pieces as well,” said Executive Director April Pickett.
Saturday night’s star-studded affair showcased several showstoppers, just like in Las Vegas.
Gala chair Mary Barto ran down the roster. “The Blue Man Group is here, Carrie Underwood is here. Elvis is here. We’ve got Cher and Tina Turner. Everybody you see in Vegas is here, Barry Manilow, Wayne Newton. We’ve got a few living ones and a few that aren’t living anymore,”
