Seniors entered their work into a contest Tuesday during the Heritage Arts Festival.
Categories included different types of painting, wood carving, and knitting.
While the artists say it’s nice to have their work recognized, there’s a lot more to the art.
“Competition is really secondary because we have this magnificent club with a little more than 50 members who all have this one common interest even though they’re from all walks of life and backgrounds,” said Bill Donaldson, an award winning wood carver.
The show is part of the Senior Games by the Sea. Senior Games is a year-round health promotion program for adults over 55.
Winners from the local games can participate in the state finals this fall.
