« Police need help identifying woman in this picture Hospice grapples with budget reductions » New Hanover rabies cases now number 11 A sick raccoon found Wednesday raised New Hanover County cases of rabies to 11 this year.The animal was seen on Bayfield Drive near a resident’s cat, so officials decided to send the raccoon to the state lab for rabies testing, New Hanover County spokesman Mark Boyer said in a statement Thursday.
