Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Awareness Day

Video

Body

We all know what being tired feels like. Now imagine feeling exhausted day in and day out. That’s what Sandra Honeycutt faces, as she has been living with chronic fatigue syndrome, or CFS, for the past five years.

Symptoms of CFS include severe fatigue, headaches, and joint pain.

There is no cure for CFS, so to cope with the disorder Honeycutt relies on energy supplements.

Between one and four million Americans suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome. It’s hard to come up with an exact number, because experts say it’s often misdiagnosed.

Honeycutt says she wants others to understand this debilitating disorder. “Chronic fatigue is a real illness, it is a real problem. There are a lot of people out there like me who have it, who are frustrated and just trying get through one day at a time,” Sandra said.

Sandra Honeycutt wrote us a letter last week, on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Awareness Day, letting us know her wish to raise awareness.

The Center for Disease Control says Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is most common in women in their 40’s and 50’s.
