Wishnask personnel file may not be released
We will not see what’s in a former New Hanover County teacher’s personnel file any time soon. Tuesday, the school superintendent released a statement saying he has decided not to release Jessica Wishnask‘s file at this time.
Personnel records are private under state law, but the law allows school districts to release them if it is necessary to protect the integrity of the school board.
Ms. Wishnask is charged with indecent liberties with a child, after police said she was found in a parked car with a 15-year-old boy. The teen was a student when Wishnask taught at Williston. She was suspended twice during her tenure, but school officials refuse to disclose why.
New Hanover County School Board members will meet in closed session Tuesday night, where they will be briefed on Wishnask’s actions by school administrators.
WWAY NewChannel 3 will have an update on that at 11:00 p.m. and Superintendent Al Lerch will join us live in studio tomorrow at 5:30.
