We’re learning more about the investigation into John Maisenhelder, the owner of a Wilmington after school karate program charged with inappropriately touching children.

WWAY obtained three search warrants, one for Maisenhelder’s home on Wedgefield Court and two for Creative After School Training, or CAST, the art and karate organization Maisenhelder owns.

All three warrants are dated last Wednesday, June 10th.

From Maisenhelder’s home, officers took a number of computers, cameras, DVD’s and CD’s, and bank statements. His car was impounded. DNA was collected from Maisenhelder, and entered into evidence.

Items seized from the CAST building include more DVD’s, VHS tapes, a web cam, and several computers.

The warrant also indicates seven pairs of white pants and a pair of underwear were taken from CAST changing rooms and bathroom, as well as miscellaneous paperwork and keys.

There are 42 children enrolled at CAST where Maisenhelder was the lead instructor there up until his arrest.

Maisenhelder is charged with three counts of indecent liberties, involving three different children from the after school program.

After his arrest last week, law enforcement officers had a private meeting with parents.

A parent who attended told us there is video of Maisenhelder’s inappropriate actions with children.

He’s being held on $500,000 bond. He’s expected to be in court July 2.
