Flavored liquids in e-cigarettes linked to respiratory disease
A new study is showing 75 percent of the flavored liquids that you can put in your electronic cigarette have been linked to a severe respiratory disease. The culprit is a chemical used in the flavoring called diacetyl. Dr. Brian Gilmore, pulmonologist for Coastal Pulmonary Medicine and a part of New Hanover Regional Medical Centers Physician Group, said the chemical is linked to the respiratory disease bronchiolitis obliterans which is an inflammatory disease of the lungs.
