A Wilmington man pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm, and admitted his status as a habitual felon on Monday in New Hanover County Superior Court. Lemarcus Davis, 30, was sentenced to 5-to-8 years in prison and the judge ordered him to attend substance abuse treatment while in custody.
The three-week Wilmington Jewish Film Festival starts on Sunday. Festival chair Debbie Smith joined WECT News First at Four on Tuesday to discuss the fourth annual festival which takes place April 23-25, May 2-4 and May 7-9 at the Thalian Hall Main Stage.
I realize this may not be a popular opinion among the tourism folks in our region, but I think our school systems need to have the ability to set the school calendar, even if it moves the start date to earlier into the summer.
