Latest Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame class announced

Prominent tennis figure Dr. Hubert A. Eaton Sr., former UNCW swimming coach Dave Allen, professional golfer Bruce Fleisher and former MLB player Quinton McCracken were announced as the latest class for the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame.

Hamilton could face ‘potential for a conflict of interest’ in new role

Former State Representative Susi Hamilton has "the potential for a conflict of interest" in her new role as Secretary of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, according to the State Ethics Commission. The Ethics Commission has been reviewing the statements of economic interest for each of Governor Roy Cooper’s nominees to serve on his cabinet.

Wilmington family uses grief of the loss of their infant son to help others

But cancer is the number one disease killer of children.  Every day in our country, forty six children are diagnosed with a form of cancer.  Now, a Wilmington couple is honoring the death of their infant son by leading an effort to help families cope with the same tragedy they have endured.
