Lower age for blood donations might increase supplies

Red Cross officials hope a change in state law will increase the blood donor pool – and blood supplies. Legislators earlier this month passed a measure lowering the minimum age to give blood from 17 to 16 as long as the younger donors have their parents’ permission.
