WEATHER ALERT: Heat advisory issued for later today

A heat advisory is in effect for Southeastern North Carolina from noon to 6 p.m. today. <br>The combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like 105 degrees to 107 degrees this afternoon in Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties, as well as into Myrtle Beach and Florence, S.C.

Five pulled from capsized boat

Rescuers hauled in five people after a boat capsized in the Cape Fear River on Saturday evening,<br>officials said.<br>At 6:36 p.m., 911 operators learned the boat had capsized<br>south of the state port, and that one boater was injured, according to a statement from Chief Deputy Larry P. Hines<br>of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
