Man drowns at Fort Fisher; dangerous rip currents likely Monday

A 47-year-old man drowned this evening in the waves off Fort Fisher State Recreation area, officials said.<br>The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. in a stretch of beach that was not being guarded, and as surf conditions became dangerous due to swells from Tropical Storm Hanna.
