Man accused of molesting 4-year-old

New Hanover County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Sunday night in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a 4-year-old child, officials said.<br>Eduardo Contreras Chavez, 37, faces one count of indecent liberties with a child, according to a statement from 1st Sgt. T.L. Fuss, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

Tropical Storm Gustav forms in central Caribbean

MIAMI | The National Hurricane center says Tropical Storm Gustav has formed in the central Caribbean, and is heading for the Dominican Republic and Haiti.<br>At 2 p.m. EST Monday reports from an Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicated that the storm had maximum winds near 60 mph.
