Search for hit-and-run driver ends with man’s arrest

Police arrested a 20-year-old man early today in connection with a hit-and-run accident on Market Street this week.<br>Jeremy Poteat of Wilmington faces one felony count of hit and run, according to Cpl. J. Fitzgerald of the Wilmington Police Department.

Tonight’s festivities at Pleasure Island canceled because of weather

The weekly Pleasure Island fireworks and gazebo entertainment this evening has been canceled because of adverse weather conditions. <br>The National Weather Service in Wilmington is calling for a 30 percent chance of showers and wind between 10-14 mph.
