Hearing delayed for lieutenant accused of beating wife

The court hearing for a Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant charged with assaulting his wife has been delayed from Thursday to Sept. 25.<br>Richard Long, a lieutenant with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, was charged July 24 with assault on a female and assault inflicting serious injury.
