Beverly Martin has been gone from the Taylor Homes for four years now, ever since the Wilmington Housing Authority razed what had been the oldest public housing in North Carolina.<br>But the Northside project where she lived for 29 years is still where her heart is, Martin said.

Schools schedule makeup days

Looks like the long Thanksgiving holiday is going to get a bit shorter for area school students.<br>New Hanover and Pender county schools intend to makeup the school day lost to Tropical Storm Hanna on Friday by turning Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving, from a teacher workday into a regular school day.
