Storm coming ashore today

A large, slow-moving storm is expected to bring 30 mph winds and 1 to 2 inches of rain to the Cape Fear region on Thursday, weather officials said. The National Weather Service said no one should enter the water through Thursday night because of a high risk for rip currents.

Hard Rock Park owner files Chapter 11 bankruptcy

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | A company spokesman says the owner of the Hard Rock theme park that opened in Myrtle Beach earlier this year has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.<br>Park spokesman Jim Olecki said the $400 million park is closed, but plans to reopen in 2009.
