Additional human bones found along Carolina Beach Road

A human arm bone and several smaller ones were discovered Friday afternoon off Carolina Beach Road where the skeletal remains of two women have been discovered previously.<br>Investigators believe the new find matches the remains of either of the women, according to Wilmington police.

First letters regarding exposed sandbags mailed this week

After a two-week delay caused by Tropical Storm Hanna, state regulators this week mailed out the first violation letters to oceanfront property owners with exposed sandbags that have outstayed their permitted life span.

South Brunswick coach suspended after assault charge

South Brunswick High School boys soccer coach Dick Brandel was suspended last week and will not return to the team.<br>Brandel was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female after a Sept. 6 incident involving his 17-year-old daughter, Ariel Brandel. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 9.
