Man grabs cash bag from Wachovia bank at 17th and Shipyard

Wilmington police are looking for a man who grabbed a cash bag from a bank teller’s window and ran out of the Wachovia bank at 1701 Shipyard Blvd. about 1:20 p.m. Monday afternoon.<br>The man made no threats and no weapon was shown, according to a statement from Lucy Crockett, spokeswoman for the police department.

Parents, officials meet tonight on school redistricting

New Hanover County school officials and parents will meet at 6:30 tonight at Eaton Elementary for the second of three public redistricting forums.<br>The schools need to move students around before the start of the 2009-10 school year to help fill a new 600-seat elementary school opening near Castle Hayne.
