Elderly man dies after being struck by car

An 80-year-old man stepped into traffic on N.C. 211 near Southport on Monday night and was killed, officials said Tuesday.<br>The incident happened near the intersection of N.C. 87, west of Southport, about 7:15 p.m., according to officials with the N.C. Highway Patrol.
