Julia Boseman apparently has nine lives, or at least three.<br>For the third time since 2004, Boseman defeated a Republican challenger in a heated race for New Hanover County’s seat in the 50-member N.C. Senate.

Republicans sweep Brunswick school board seats

Three Republicans swept the Brunswick County school board election Tuesday. Olaf “Bud” Thorsen in District 1 got 49.27 percent of the votes, Catherine Cooke in District 2 had 54.85 percent, and longtime incumbent Shirley Babson won in District 4 with 50.83 percent.
