Huge crowds a welcome sight for area retailers

Retailers were breathing a small sigh of relief late Friday as a day of heavy crowds and big buys began to wind down. <br>”We have hardly sat down all day, we’ve had that many people in,” said Jane Faudree, artist/sales associate for Spectrum Art and Jewelry off Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington.

Black Friday a mixed bag for downtown merchants

Burning of Halyburton Park planned; learn more at Monday meeting

Pregnant woman hit by car after exiting bus

A man driving a car hit a six-month pregnant woman this afternoon after she exited a bus at 13th and Greenfield streets. <br>The woman, whose name and age were not immediately available, was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
