Christmas parade: Clauses keep holiday spirit alive and well

Isaiah’s mom wanted him to see Santa Claus. Isaiah wasn’t sure this was a good idea. <br>The Clauses did their best to reassure the youngster. Santa gave his heartiest “Ho, ho, ho!” as Mrs. Claus enticingly waved a candy cane. <br>No luck. Isaiah backed away, pulling his mom with him.

Saturday night was the annual Burgaw Christmas Parade. A crowd of several hundred was expected, and the curbs were filling up with early arrivals as Santa and Mrs. Claus held court in the gazebo in front of the courthouse.

Seahawks’ freshmen look to shake off early setbacks
