Local garbage hauler faces felony conspiracy charge

The co-owner of a local trash hauling company was arrested Tuesday and accused of obtaining two-years’ worth of illegal discounts at the New Hanover County landfill with the help of a former county employee.

Thieves break into cars on Colonial Drive

On Thursday morning, five residents in one Wilmington neighborhood reported that their vehicles had been broken into overnight.<br>The break-ins were in the 700 and 800 blocks of Colonial Drive and in the 2600 block of Columbia Avenue, according to reports filed with the Wilmington Police Department.

Southport board OKs county plan for sewage
