Looking back at N.C. playright Green<br>Paul Green (1894-1981) is mainly remembered today as the author of “The Lost Colony” and other outdoor dramas. In his day, though, Green was one of America’s most noted playwrights, with six Broadway productions to his credit, earning the 1927 Pulitzer Prize for drama for “In Abraham’s Bosom.”

Police seek help identifying attempted robber

The Wilmington Police Department is asking the public to identify a man they say threatened a drug-store clerk with a handgun early this month.<br>On Dec. 3, a surveillance camera at the CVS drugstore at 3625 S. College Road captured an image of a man who entered the store at 9:30 p.m.

Man charged with stealing, selling girlfriend’s jewelry

New Hanover County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a suspected repeat jewelry thief Tuesday.<br>James Anthony Richardson, 30, of Wilmington, was reported to have taken jewelry from the residence of his girlfriend and the residence of her mother, Deputy Charles Smith said.

Aging Cape Fear Memorial Bridge in need of quick fix
