One lucky lottery store in Ocean Isle Beach sold the latest million dollar winning lottery ticket.

The Minuteman Food Mart on Causeway Drive already had a thirty-thousand dollar winner and a 200 thousand dollar winner. Thanks to the 130 million dollar blockbuster scratch-off ticket they have now had a million dollar winner.

Local restaurant manager, Maria Kane, bought the winning ticket. Store cashier, Cynthia Robinson said big jackpot wins mean more lottery sales. “A gentleman came in here today and he walked up to the clerk and asked her to split a book with him and the books are 300 dollars. But were not allowed to sell a whole book of lottery tickets,” she said.

For those of you hoping to strike it rich on your own ticket, it is not too late. There are still three more million dollar prizes to be won in the 130 million dollar blockbuster game.

Tickets are ten dollars.

Father has lost confidence son-in-law is innocent

RALEIGH — Search warrants show the father of a woman found beaten to death in her North Carolina home has lost confidence in his son-in-law’s innocence.

Alan Fisher detailed e-mails and phone conversations with Jason Young to investigators. Young’s pregnant wife, Michelle, was found dead in her suburban Raleigh home in November 2006. The couple’s then 2-year-old daughter, Cassidy, was found unharmed nearby.

Fisher said he felt “put off” when Young refused to talk about the murder investigation and hasn’t tried to prove his innocence. Young has not been named a suspect.

A ruling in a civil lawsuit held Jason Young responsible for his wife’s death, barring him from her insurance policies. He reached a court agreement last week to share custody of his daughter with his sister-in-law.
