UNC tuition hike ready for legislature’s approval

Tuition is going up for UNC Wilmington students.

The UNC Board of Governors voted this morning to approve an average 3.9% increase of in-state undergraduate tuition and fees at all 16 of its campuses.

This means undergrads will pay $71 more at East Carolina and at UNCW, the rate hike translates to a $432 increase.

The rate hike now heads to the state legislature for approval.

Southport drops donations from liquor revenue to schools, hospital

Southport-area schools are saying goodbye to their ABCs … revenue, that is. The Southport Board of Aldermen voted unanimously Thursday night to stop giving part of its revenue from liquor store sales to local schools and Dosher Memorial Hospital.

UNCW tuition to increase by $106

The University of North Carolina Board of Governors approved a range of tuition and fee increases for all its campuses starting this fall. At UNCW, tuition will increase $106 (from $2,459 to $2,565) for resident undergraduate students.
