The evening before Louie Clark passed away, N.C. State University beat the University of Virginia in a 72-67 basketball game.“This made him a happy man,” daughter Pam Craig said.Louie died Feb. 22 at the age of 79 from coronary heart disease.

Castle Hayne | Members of Castle Hayne Volunteer Fire and Rescue were just getting into their task of lifting and supporting the front end of a junked SUV when a loud tone caught everyone’s attention.It was shortly before 8 p.m. on Tuesday. They were holding a training session in the field beside the firehouse on Castle Hayne Road.
