BASF to close Wilmington-area vitamin plant

BASF will permanently close its Wilmington vitamin plant March 31, eliminating 33 jobs.The company said it began notifying workers after it announced the closing in December.

Screen Gems on track for opening

The third-largest film and production stage in the United States is on track to open in a couple of months here in the Port City.

Screen Gems Studios announced Wednesday that its Dream Stage 10 is scheduled to open May 22nd.

The 37-thousand foot stage also includes a 186-thousand gallon indoor special effects water tank. The water tank will be one of only three in North America.

Screen Gems broke ground on the stage in September.
