Cape Fear Pride celebrates history of Calabash

Calabash is known for its seafood, and the little town has certainly grown over the years.

River Road in Brunswick County reopens after crash

River Road in Brunswick County has reopened after being shut down for more than an hour because of a three-vehicle crash, the sheriff’s office said at 4:47 p.m. Thursday.The crash happened about 3:20 p.m. and was near Rice Hope, the sheriff’s office said. One of the vehicles involved was in a pond, a sheriff’s office release said.

CFCC architecture students win contest for green design

For the second year in a row, Cape Fear Community College architecture students have taken home the blue ribbon for green design.This year, however, the prize was more than money and bragging rights – their design will be constructed on Poole Road in Raleigh as affordable housing for the formerly homeless.
