Missing swimmer is presumed drowned at Carolina Beach

The U.S. Coast Guard stopped searching Sunday afternoon for a teenager who is presumed to have drowned Saturday at Carolina Beach, said Chief William Younginer of the Carolina Beach Police Department.

Two children recovering after Friday night crash on N.C. 211

Two children are recovering in hospitals this weekend after a wreck Friday on N.C. 211 between Supply and Ash, officials said.The injured children are boys, ages 6 and 3. They sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the near head-on collision, said Trooper M.R. Strangman of N.C. Highway Patrol.
