Confirmed swine flu case hits Bradley Creek Elementary

The World Health Organization has declared a swine flu pandemic, as another case of the H1N1 virus has been confirmed in New Hanover County schools at Bradley Creek Elementary.

The good news – it is summer break for schools on a traditional calendar; as Bradley Creek is.

Even so, the school notified parents of the confirmed case Thursday afternoon.

Authorities held a private meeting Thursday night for parents of children who attend C.A.S.T., an after-school program whose owner faces child abuse charges.Dozens of parents attended the meeting at the Wilmington Police Department and most left unwilling to discuss what was said, or talk about the case that began Wednesday.
